During the Spring Festival period, there was a major stock-market swing—especially among some global software companies—and it was closely tied to developments in AI. In particular, AI’s revolutionary impact on programming and code writing: before, people were mostly just playing around with it, but once it touches enterprise-level applications, some have suggested using AI to rewrite mainframe code. But recently the (share price) has been slowly recovering, because people realized it’s not that simple. Just translating the code once is still a long way from modernizing an entire IT system. So I wouldn’t call it real anxiety, but it did trigger enormous market volatility.
